Cowboys rookie Tyler Guyton held his own against Micah Parsons in first padded practice
The Dallas Cowboys held their first padded practice of training camp on Tuesday and thankfully all seemed to go rather well. You have to walk before you can crawl which is why the first few practices didn’t have pads in general. But putting them on is a significant thing and the closest thing we have gotten to Dallas Cowboys football since the last time they wore pads… we needn’t discuss it.
One of the highlights to emerge from Tuesday was seeing rookie first-round pick Tyler Guyton work against Micah Parsons in pads, and you know what? He held his own!
This is quite impressive from Guyton given who he is going up against. Remember, this is his first padded practice of training camp ever. He was given a baptism by fire and passed with flying colors.
Watch the second clip specifically. Guyton completely stonewalls Parsons. This is Micah Parsons we are talking about!
If there has been anything worth trusting the Cowboys with over the course of this offseason it has been Guyton. This wasn’t necessarily the case because of who Guyton was at Oklahoma specifically, but because of the track record that Dallas has when it comes to first-round linemen. Nobody should freak out over a single training camp practice, but it is hard to not let your mind run to the idea that they have done it again.
