All signs point to the Dallas Cowboys and Dak Prescott eventually coming to an understanding in their back-and-forth contract negotiations, but what if things never materialize? With a no-trade and no-tag clause in his current contract, 2024 could potentially be Prescott’s last season in Dallas.

Today, we thought we’d take a look around the league to gauge the potential interest of teams who could be vying for Dak Prescott services if he does indeed become a free agent in 2025. While there would certainly be numerous suitors, we decided to stick with those who made the most sense.

Pittsburgh Steelers

Is Russell Wilson or Justin Fields the long-term solution a QB for the Pittsburgh Steelers? Probably not. That means they will be on the lookout for their long-term solution in 2025 and Dak Prescott could be at the top of their wish list. They have a talented enough roster to entice his services and the salary-cap room to pay him the top of the market contract he’s looking for.

Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders paid Gardner Minshew $15 million this offseason to compete with Aiden O’Connell for the starting QB job in 2024, but neither likely has a long-term future there. Semi-tanking this season could put them in the position to select a QB high in the 2025 NFL Draft or they could look for more proven player like Dak Prescott. Davante Adams could be all the enticement Dak needs to consider Las Vegas.

New York Giants

Could Dak Prescott stay in the NFC East? Unless Daniel Jones turns things around, he likely won’t be in the future plans of the N.Y. Giants. In fact, the Giants can save $30 million in cap space in 2025 by designating Jones a post-June 1 cut. Getting the chance to stick it to the Cowboys twice a year, and play with a WR who is it expected to be a superstar in Malik Nabers, could be all the incentive Prescott needs stay in the division.

New Orleans Saints

The Derek Carr-Dennis Allen duo has one more chance in 2024 to prove themselves long-term in New Orleans, but the Saints cleaning house is also possible. In that scenario whoever the new head coach is would likely prefer to start his tenure off with an established QB like Dak Prescott. The Saints have the weapons to the lure Dak, but would have to get creative with their salary-cap to pay him, but it’s doable.

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks are a wild card team for Dak Prescott. They could believe he’s the missing link for a potential Super Bowl, even though Geno Smith has made two Pro Bowls recently. They could save $25 million in cap space by parting ways after 2024. And with young OTs like Abraham Lucas/Charles Cross and WRs DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njiba, this pairing could be ideal for both parties.
