In 2013, Cowboys fans witnessed a miraculous comeback that ended 0n a 10-yard reception.

Numerous occasions arose when Tony Romo and DeMarco Murray shared the field, leading to celebrations among Cowboys fans. In 2013, this dynamic duo once again showcased their prowess during the Week 16 contest against Washington.

The game commenced with Dallas establishing an early advantage; however, Washington aimed to disrupt the proceedings and exerted considerable effort to seize the lead, reaffirming the notion that Dallas and December do not coexist well. As the fourth quarter began, Washington’s Kai Forbath successfully converted a 47-yard field goal, elevating Washington’s lead to 23-14. The subsequent drive by the Cowboys consumed more than eight minutes and involved 15 plays, ultimately yielding only a field goal. Fortunately, the Cowboys defense was able to force a punt, managing to utilize merely two minutes of the game clock.

The Cowboys’ offense returned to the field with 3:39 remaining on the clock, positioned deep within their own territory at the 13-yard line following the punt. With the stakes high and the season hanging in the balance, Romo faced the critical task of delivering a performance that could either save the season for Dallas or lead to an early exit.

The drive commenced, and Romo swiftly connected with Terrance Williams for a significant 51-yard gain, placing the team in scoring position. As the game approached its final minute, the offense found itself pushed back to the 10-yard line of Washington, and now facing a fourth-down attempt.

Romo received the snap, dropped back, and scrambled forward in search of an open receiver, ultimately locating Murray ahead of him. Romo released the ball, and Murray secured the catch, utilizing his strength and momentum to cross the goal line for a touchdown. Throughout the game, Romo completed 17 of 27 passes for a total of 226 yards and two touchdowns, all while contending with back pain that left him visibly limping after several plays in the fourth quarter.

The Cowboys would end the season 8-8 once again, but it would set up their incredible 2014 season. As for Washington, they finished the season 3-13.
