In 2014, the Dallas Cowboys managed to secure victory after falling into a large deficit, matching the franchise’s biggest comeback victory.

It was Week 3 of the 2014 season and the Dallas Cowboys faced the St Louis Rams at the Edwards Jones Dome. The home team were coming into the week on a high after defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a close contest and had started their campaign at 1-1. The Cowboys were also matched at 1-1 for the year after losing to Tennessee the week before.

The game commenced with the Cowboys experiencing a significant setback, as the Rams scored on their initial offensive drive and continued their momentum with another touchdown in the second quarter. With six minutes remaining before halftime, Tony Romo’s interception thrown to Jackrabbit Jenkins left the Cowboys trailing with a score of 21-0.

Just prior to the conclusion of the first half, Demarco Murray enabled the Cowboys to register their first points. However, it was in the third quarter that the Cowboys initiated their resurgence. With two field goals from Dan Bailey and a 68-yard touchdown reception by Dez Bryant, the Cowboys narrowed the deficit to a mere 21-20, causing Jeff Fisher to exhibit visible concern on the sidelines.

Up until the final drive by the Rams in the fourth quarter, St. Louis had managed to score only a single field goal. The Cowboys executed a precise 11-play drive spanning 84 yards, culminating in a touchdown by Terrance Williams. This was followed by a pick-six from Bruce Carter, allowing the Cowboys to seize the lead and ultimately secure a 34-31 victory.
