Jeff Heath was born on May 14, 1991 and signed with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2013. Initially, he played primarily on special teams, where he excelled due to his speed and tackling ability. Known for his hard-hitting style and versatility, Heath was also used on defense. He made several crucial plays, including game-saving interceptions and key tackles, including against Oakland.

Heath was also involved in a violent collision with Seahawks’ wide receiver Ricardo Lockette on a punt play. Heath delivered a block to Lockette who didn’t see the impending blow coming. The end result was a neck injury that would end Lockette’s season and play a role in his retirement.

Special teams contributions were Heath’s calling card, and he often served as a team captain. In 2017, Heath had a memorable moment when he was forced to play as an emergency kicker during a game and successfully made two extra points.

In 2020, Heath became a free agent and signed with the Las Vegas Raiders, and then with the New Orleans Saints in 2021. He ended his career with 11 interceptions, 28 pass breakups and 395 total tackles. He also added two extra points and five kickoffs.
