Cowboys roster news: Dallas signing OT Cohl Cabral

The Dallas Cowboys received some unsettling news in the aftermath of their preseason opener as tackle Chuma Edoga suffered a toe injury that is expected to keep him out 4-6 weeks. Factor in that fellow offensive lineman Earl Bostick left Wednesday’s practice with an ankle injury, the team needed some bodies in the trenches.

According to the mothership, Stephen Jones noted that the team signed Cohl Cabral on Wednesday afternoon.

The mothership’s Nick Harris noted in a follow up tweet that the team also worked out Dru Samia so that is a name to watch if Dallas wants to add another body. It was Shaka Toney who was waived in order to make room for Cabral on the roster at the moment.

While the headline from the Edoga injury was that rookie first-rounder Tyler Guyton would start at left tackle in his absence, the reality of his injury is that the overall unit took a blow. Establishing continued depth is a high priority all over the team, but certainly within the offensive line.
