Cowboys training camp: Dak Prescott is looking sharp

As training camp rolls along for the Dallas Cowboys, many players and position groups are playing well enough to feel good about. With the secondary looking to be as advertised, and the wide receiver group appearing to be the most fun to watch, there are many reasons to be excited about what fans are seeing in Oxnard, California right now.

However, among all of the positions and names being thrown around, it wouldn’t be wise to leave out the play of QB1 Dak Prescott, who is having an excellent camp in his own right.

Dak Prescott is off to a sharp start in training camp

The discourse around Prescott has always been a fascinating one. With team failures in the playoffs clouding judgment, people often forget just how good of a quarterback he is. Well, for those who may have forgotten, after a long, sad offseason, Prescott, through two and a half weeks of camp, has begun to remind people of what he is capable of.

From precision tosses from 40 yards out, to carving up the starting defense in 7v7 and team drills, Prescott looks to be firing on all cylinders early in training camp.

Even with his best weapon, CeeDee Lamb, staying away from camp for contractual reasons, it hasn’t appeared to slow the quarterback down at all.

Now, it hasn’t been all positive for Prescott as the combination of DaRon Bland, Jourdan Lewis, and even Trevon Diggs as of late, has made it hard on him. But as of Tuesday afternoon, Prescott has only thrown one interception since the pads have come on in camp.

Granted, you can take this with a grain of salt if you choose to, but picking up where he left off after an MVP-caliber season in the 2023 season is a very good thing for the Cowboys.

The Cowboys, and perhaps Prescott himself, face a crucial 2024 season, and with all the cards potentially all on the table, having QB1 firing at his best is a good thing for all parties involved.
