Cowboys valued at $10.32 billion, most valuable team in professional sports

Stop me if you have heard this before, but the Dallas Cowboys are worth a lot of money. You can also stop me if this sounds repetitive, but the Dallas Cowboys are worth more money than literally every other sports team. Sound familiar? It is.

Sportico released evaluations on Tuesday and to absolutely no one’s surprise America’s Team leads the way once again. They are the first team to reach an evaluation of $10B and are well north of that.

Of course the first thing that comes to mind for everyone these days is the lack of spending the Cowboys have had and shown throughout the course of free agency and relative to the needed extensions for their superstars. As has always been the case, net worth does not equal salary cap space.

This isn’t said to defend the Cowboys’ lack of action, but more than anything to distinguish what is and is not legitimately connected. If anything the optics of it are frustrating given how we got to this point, but they are clearly not frustrating enough to impact the net worth of the team as exemplified by things that Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones brought up when they were asked about fan apathy in that their season ticket renewal rate was higher (and faster) than ever.
