Cowboys vs. Browns recap: Social media reaction to the blowout win on opening week
Week 1 had the Dallas Cowboys on the road in Ohio to take on the Cleveland Browns. The Cowboys roster came into the game with many questions, but here’s how social media reacted to the game as questions got answered and the team won impressively.
CeeDee Lamb impacted the game early and made a spectacular catch to keep the drive going.

One-on-one against a safety, you know that means Brandin Cooks will score in that situation.
Brandin Cooks is wide open for the TD reception. And the Cowboys’ second drive of the day finishes strong. Prescott with two nice throws, Lamb on the fade and to Cooks with an oncoming rusher for the score.

The Cowboys defense started on fire.
The Cowboys had trouble establishing the run. It caused some issues early in the game.
I think the Cowboys have to abandon the first down runs. It’s killing their offense.

But then Ezekiel Elliott rolled in for the team’s second touchdown.

Brandon Aubrey then hit a 57-yard kick to stretch the score.
Then before the half we got our first interception.

Cowboys stay ahead at halftime.
Cowboys Q2 notes:
-Deshaun Watson can’t escape Micah Parsons who keeps picking on Dawand Jones
-The Cowboys’ offense looks more balanced (yay!)
-Mike McCarthy is getting more creative with the play calls
-We already knew that Eric Kendricks was a great addition, but he is…— Jess Nevarez (@JessNevarez_) September 8, 2024
KaVontae Turpin scores on a punt return.

It was getting out of hand for Cleveland.
Browns fans mockingly applaud the team for picking up its 2nd first down of the game.

Kendricks then puts his first notch in the sack stat line.
DeMarvion Overshown came flying in for the sack on fourth-down.

Think the linebacker question has been answered in this game. It looks like a strength of this team now and far removed from how it looked last year. #DallasCowboys

Cowboys fans took over Cleveland.
“Let’s go Cowboys” chants at the end of the 3rd quarter in Cleveland.

Trevon Diggs lets the everyone know he’s back.
So many standouts today from the defense. Diggs, Kendricks, Overshown, Parsons, Lawrence, the dudes up front. Fantastic effort.

The game was a huge win.
We had one piece of worrying new to keep an eye on.
Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson was just seen walking out of the locker room with an ace bandage wrap around his left knee. He was walking with a limp. #DallasCowboys
