Cowboys vs Falcons recap: Social media reaction to Dallas’ third loss in a row
The Dallas Cowboys came into Mercedes-Benz Stadium on a three-game winning streak against Atlanta and was looking to make it four. Atlanta had different ideas and the team’s offensive line did well to block in the run game and keep the pressure off Kirk Cousins. On defense, the Falcons were the lowest-rated team in sacks and pressures but had the Cowboys offensive line struggling. How did social media feel about all this?
CeeDee Lamb got some pregame hype with the coaches, he needed to play an important role in today’s game. Trevon Diggs was seen warming up and here with Lamb.
OC Brian Shottenheimer and WR coach Robert Prince both came over to hype up CeeDee Lamb pregame. Despite what it looks like on outside one team source told me they had a really strong team meeting last night. Lamb looked especially locked in pregame. #Cowboys pic.twitter.com/HbTwpnXvai

Cowboys go fast on offense, get to the redzone and Zack Martin misses a block. Brandon Aubrey scores three to get things going.
DAL started the opening drive with tempo and it resulted in gains of 27, 12 and 15 on their first 3 plays. Stalled a bit after than just outside the red zone (DAL 21).

Falcons drive down the field and score. They made it look easy with the offensive line dominating the entire drive.
Drake London just went up and over Trevon Diggs and hauled in the game’s first touchdown.
Cousins went after Diggs and trusted his big-bodied possession guy to bring it down, and that’s exactly what he does.

Zero pressure on Kirk Cousins is a recipe for disaster

Carl Lawson made a huge play and Donovan Wilson scooped up the ball.
Cowboys go for it on 4th-and-1. They gave it to CeeDee Lamb in the backfield and he got pushed back. It was a turnover on downs for Atlanta.
Our run game is… *Insert reply*

The Dallas Cowboys run game is completely non-existent.
They needed 1 yard on 3rd down. Stuffed.
They needed 1 yard on 4th down, and they run a jet sweep with their star wide receiver, and lose 3 yards.
They cannot run but at all.

Mike Zimmer couldn’t get his defense organized and called the game poorly that allowed an easy touchdown.
Diggs couldn’t get through the trash (as they say) and Mooney gets free for the TD. Is that a pick play? We saw that last week didn’t we?

Dak finally rushes for a huge play.
Dak goes back, Dak goes forward…Rico catches, bobbles, catches…TOUCHDOWN!
Carl Lawson had a day.
It was a close game at halftime but Atlanta was playing efficiently on offense.
The #Cowboys HAVE to score points coming out of the third quarter.
A punt or turnover will end the game.

No Tyler Guyton to start the second half with a neck strain.

The second half started poorly for Dallas.
Cowboys go fake punt pass. Anger throws it to C.J. Goodwin. Was nearly intercepted.
Mike McCarthy wanted a flag and he doesn’t get it.

Per @The33rdTeamFB, the #Cowboys have a -29.6 EPA on all their offensive plays this season
That is Dallas’ 3rd worst offensive output in a season in 20 years….
brutal.

Fourth down was a huge issue this week.
On 4th down today, the Cowboys have gotten TFLed on a jet sweep, failed a fake punt throw, and gotten flagged for 12 in the huddle

Before the end of the third, Aubrey hits another from 57-yards. Going into the fourth it’s 21-13 to Atlanta.
Then in the fourth quarter with Dallas down two touchdowns, Dak leaves the game with a hamstring injury and Cooper Rush goes in.
Dak Prescott is in the injury tent. Cooper Rush taking snaps on the sideline

It’s officially off the rails with the Cowboys.

Lamb had issues all game with his shoulder. In the fourth quarter after this play he got taken off the field.
Cowboys score in the last few minutes of the game.
Game over.
No watermelon kick recovery this time for the Cowboys against Atlanta. Down 27-21 with 1:27 to play. About to fall to 3-5.
