Cowboys vs Rams: Rookie Tyler Guyton won’t start against Rams, but will play left tackle some
The Dallas Cowboys begin their preseason on Sunday afternoon on the road against the Los Angeles Rams and even though football is actually happening, history has shown us that we will not see many starters until the regular season begins.
It remains to be seen whether or not first-round pick Tyler Guyton will be a starter when the regular season begins, but if he is then he is somewhat following that trend. It is unlikely that we will see the likes of Dak Prescott, but we now know that we will not see Tyler Guyton… to start.
The mothership’s Nick Harris reported on Sunday afternoon that Guyton would not start but that he would see “some solid burn” in the middle of the game at left tackle.
UPDATE: Cowboys rookie OT Tyler Guyton won’t start today’s game, but expect him to get some solid burn in the middle portion of today’s game at left tackle.
Guyton has been working back from a virus that sidelined him for a few days earlier in camp.#DallasCowboys

This makes sense in that the Cowboys likely want to get a bit of a grip on the game before tossing Guyton in. It doesn’t help that he has missed some practices lately with an illness, but these preseason games are important opportunities that he and the team have to take proper advantage of.
Who is ready to see Tyler Guyton in action at left tackle?
