Dallas Cowboys coverage from social media: Highlights from Sunday’s game versus L.A. Rams
The Dallas Cowboys are finally back! Yes, it was just the first preseason game, but in some capacity we got some real football. For those guys on the field, nothing about this matchup was unimportant. Here are some of the highlights from the game.
We had some guys missing in action.
UPDATE: RB Royce Freeman, S Israel Mukuamu, OL Nate Thomas and DB Sheldrick Redwine all stood off to the side during warmups, indicating they’re inactive today. No sight of Deuce Vaughn.#DallasCowboys

The linebackers were certainly fired up and ready to take on the season.
Mazi Smith really is stepping things up this year already.
So far it looks like Mazi Smith’s instincts have grown since we last saw him. It’s clear he understands his role is to stop the run

The Rams scored first in the game with a field goal.
The Cowboys’ first defensive drive ends with the Rams settling for a field goal. Mazi Smith with three tackles on that first drive including a tackle for loss.

Did someone say Jalen Brooks?
Cowboys first offensive drive.
Cowboys answer with a FG. Cooper Rush to Jalen Brooks for 43 yards is the big play. Wonder if that will be the only drive of the game for Rush as the Cowboys look to get Trey Lance a lot of work

The first interception of the game goes to Markquese Bell.
Trey Lance entered the field and made his first throw as a Cowboy.
Jalen Cropper was unstoppable.
Trey Lance on m his first action as a Cowboys player.
Trey Lance today:
25/41
188 passing yards
46 rushing yards (6 ATT)
0 TDs
0 INTs— Defy (@defytalkcowboys) August 12, 2024
The only points scored came off of Brandon Aubrey’s boot. He was four of five on kicks. One miss from 65 yards.
Final score.
We had one piece of postgame injury mews
Chuma Edoga left the #Cowboys matchup vs. Rams with a foot injury. He’s now in a boot.
