Dallas Cowboys injuries: Linebacker Eric Kendricks misses Wednesday practice with back issue

Update: 4:50pm ET

ESPN’s Todd Archer added that Kendricks is dealing with back tightness specifically.

Hopefully he feels well soon.

We are still very early into training camp for the Dallas Cowboys and unfortunately the team has already been seriously tested from an injury standpoint.

Pass rusher Sam Williams tore his ACL over the weekend which calls into question the depth of the defensive ends. Tackle Chuma Edoga appeared to have something, according to reports, going on during Tuesday’s practice, but thankfully was right back in action on Wednesday which put an end to that particular idea.

But Wednesday did feature separate injury news as linebacker Eric Kendricks was not involved in practice. As things wound down it was reported that he missed practice with a back issue and is considered day to day.

The framing of things is that this is not a serious issue. Kendricks is obviously an established veteran, and with the Cowboys having a scheduled off day on Thursday, it is possible that they just wanted to give him some extra time if he was feeling any kind of uncomfortable.

Kendricks appeared fine after Tuesday’s practice during his sit down interview with NFL Network. It stands to reason that if he was not feeling well that he would not have done the interview. Obviously he could have felt worse between then and Wednesday’s practice, though.

Ultimately this seems like a thing that has to technically be reported but that may not wind up being too big of an issue. Hopefully that is the case.
