Dallas Cowboys release unofficial depth chart for preseason game against Los Angeles Rams

In case you did not know it is officially a game week for the Dallas Cowboys and with it being of the preseason variety that means that we are in store for some unofficial stuff.

What is that you ask? It is the first week of August which means it is Unofficial Depth Chart SZN. The Dallas Cowboys released the first one of 2024 on Tuesday. Feast your eyes.

Remember, as always, that this is unofficial so there is no need to overreact to anything. That being said… some 30,000-foot takeaways:

  • CeeDee Lamb is still listed as WR1
  • Chuma Edoga is listed as the starting left tackle
  • Cooper Rush is listed as QB2 with Trey Lance as QB3
  • Ezekiel Elliott is listed as the starting running back despite all the “he’ll just handle goal line and short yardage” talk
  • Mazi Smith is in fact listed as a starter
  • Marist Liufau is listed ahead of DeMarvion Overshown

There are of course no official things that we need to seriously draw from this, but it is all a part of the process that leads us up to the regular season.

Remember that in addition to the preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams (which is the whole reason behind this unofficial depth chart) that the Cowboys will scrimmage against them on Thursday.

We will able to draw a lot more from how they line up and what they look like then.
