Dallas Cowboys reportedly bringing in RB Dalvin Cook for visit with team
The Dallas Cowboys made massive waves on Monday by finally locking down wide receiver CeeDee Lamb to a long-term extension with the team. It only took 18 months.
While many assumed the next massive news we got to be an extension for quarterback Dak Prescott, something of the not-necessarily-massive variety popped up on Monday evening.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Cowboys are bringing in running back Dalvin Cook for a workout.
The #Cowboys might not be done: Sources say 4x Pro Bowl RB Dalvin Cook is flying to Dallas tonight for a visit.
Unlike a year ago, when he was rehabbing from shoulder surgery, Cook has hit the weights all offseason and says he feels the best he has in years. pic.twitter.com/jT9Zsf91qB

Pelissero’s tweet has the obligatory “Cook is in the best shape of his life” offering, but it is worth noting that there seemed to be some rumors around him joining the Cowboys back in the early days of free agency (not that Dallas did much back then).
As of now the Cowboys have Ezekiel Elliott and Rico Dowdle as backs we feel confident are going to make the roster. Perhaps Deuce Vaughn manages to do so as well. But even if Deuce does, the team could certainly use another body.
Cook has had a less than stellar last two years and was mostly a part of the New York Jets last season before joining the playoff run that the Baltimore Ravens went on.
Obviously Cook is most known for his time with the Minnesota Vikings and he did surpass 1,100 rushing yards two years ago for what it is worth.
Maybe this is what the Cowboys need. We will see.
