DaRon Bland ranked as 31st best player in NFL Top 100 list

The NFL’s Top 100 Players of 2024 list, which is voted by the players themselves, ranked Dallas Cowboys CB DaRon Bland number 31. Bland was previously unranked in last season’s list after a productive rookie season. In 2023 however, Bland elevated his game and put up a historic season with the team.

The NFL’s pick-six king ranks just one spot off the number of points he scored last season. Dallas’ defense easily could have folded after cornerback Trevon Diggs tore his ACL during a Week 3 practice. Instead, players like Bland stepped up to power a fifth-ranked scoring unit. – Bobby Kownack of NFL.com

While ranking 31st seems like a high honor, some are arguing that Bland should be even higher on the list, after he set the record for the most pick-sixes in a single season with five. Over the course of two seasons, Bland has 14 interceptions, 5 defensive touchdowns, 22 pass deflections, and 123 tackles.

It is worth noting that Bland ranked higher than Seahawks CB Tariq Woolen (91), Denver Broncos CB Patrick Surtain II (52), and New York Jets CB Sauce Gardner (38).

Bland and the rest of the secondary has help on the way. It was announced on Tuesday that CB Trevon Diggs has been taken off the PUP list and will be available for practice and all football-related activities immediately. Having to choose between what side to throw to sounds like a nightmare for opposing quarterbacks, as Diggs was ranked 23 in the Top 100 players of 2022 list just a couple seasons ago.
